It is with mixed feelings that we announce the upcoming retirement of Dr. Marcie Engel from Brookeville Animal Hospital.
Dr. Engel has been an esteemed member of the Brookeville Animal Hospital family for over 20 years and we're going to miss her dearly.
We'd like to leave you with these words from Dr. Engel:
Dear Brookeville Animal Hospital Family,
For the past 20+ years, I, along with the other veterinarians here, have worked diligently to provide Brookeville clients with the best possible veterinary care in Montgomery County. I am confident that, together, we have met, and even exceeded, everyone’s expectations. As veterinarians, we strive to provide pets with high quality, compassionate care which has been Brookeville’s highest priority since the very beginning.
It is bittersweet for me to inform you that as of July 31, 2019, I will be retiring from Brookeville Animal Hospital. I have been fortunate to be a veterinarian for over 30 years and I have enjoyed myself immensely, particularly over the last 20+ years I spent as owner and Chief of Staff of Brookeville Animal Hospital.
My husband, Kerry, and I are transitioning to our home in Florida where he will continue to work with his clients and I will do my best to become a more competent golfer. My goal is to remain engaged with BAH and support the staff when I can. In fact, I plan to return when I am needed to cover vacations and scheduled time off for the other doctors.
Knowing that Dr. Laura Kane and Dr. Katherine Rowan will continue to practice the same exceptional veterinary medicine - with the same quality and personal attention that you have come to expect - makes me much more comfortable with this decision.
My departure has also been made much easier knowing that Dr. Sharon Milza, our surgeon for over 20 years and office manager for the past three years, will be stepping into my role as Chief of Staff.
This life changing decision has been very difficult for me but I am looking forward to the next chapter in my life which I want to spend exploring the world, traveling, and going on adventures with my wonderful husband and best friend, Kerry.
Please know it has been both a privilege and an honor to have been your veterinarian all of these years. I will always have fond memories of each of you and your pets.
Marcie L. Engel, DVM
